Engine seized up on the highway
I would like to remove the engine without the clutch and transmission. Is this possible? I can't turn the engine over due to it being seized. I guess I can dropped the pan and find it why it wont turn over. And disconnect the rod to get it to turn over.
Anyone have a step by step or service manual that would help? I found a 2006 escape motor 2.3 that I plan to drop in once it is pulled.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

The clutch will come out with the engine as it is bolted to the engine flywheel. TBH I'd pull them assembled and split afterwards - the Haynes manual details the procedure I think (mine is at home at the moment).
Engines seize due to overheat or lack of oil, you need to know what caused yours otherwise if it a cooling issue or oil cooler leak you could just toast the new motor. Exactly which bit of the engine is seized now is probably less relevant unless you intended to rebuild it.
