Mazda Tribute timing belt or chain help
 
can anyone help me according to the user book for my car Mazda Tribute 2Ltr 4wd i need to replace the timing belt.

My questions are:

is this the belt that is on the outside of the engine or is it inside the engine.:confused:

is it a belt or chain:confused:

looking for help as i am about to put into garage to do this and dont want to be ripped off.

The 2.0 uses a timing belt. Labor time is 4 hours to replace it so it is fairly expensive to replace. Little things that you find once you get it apart can bump the price up considerably. Average cost is probably in the $500-800 range.

Unless he does it himself.
It is not that hard of a job. It requires tools and a repair shop manual.
