Smile Mazda Tribute Revs on starting

When I start my 2003 Mazda 6cyl (V6) Tribute it initially revs high for about three seconds and then slows down to an idle of approximately 800 - 900 on the tacho, is this normal?

If not what could be the problem and how do I fix this?

Car runs and starts perfect except for this revving issue on starting.

Can't be good for the motor revving before oil has a chance to circulate around the various parts...
But if you say that this is normal thank you for your time and advice...
Cheers..

Those engines can get over 250k klm easily so if there was a drama regarding oil starvation at start-up it would be well known about imo .

Cold is where most of the actual wear is btw , its the hot cold cycling , Diesel engines last much longer if one drives as normal right from the get go (after making sure all pressures are up ie:30 seconds to 1 minute , an engine that stays warm most of its life is capable of 500k klm or more think Taxi , and big rig engines 1 million klm with the correct servicing , a bit of trivia , cu

I had a bad throttle cable that would get stuck. It's easy to replace.
