Intake manifold removal

I am having trouble removing the intake manifold on 05 Tribute 2.3 liters. Has only one removed their intake manifold if so how many bolts do you have to remove to get it off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rick

RE: Intake manifold removal

Is your engine a V6 or 4 cyl? If a V6, are you removing the manifold so that you can replace the back 3 spark plugs? I just recently replaced the spark plugs on my 2002 3.0L tribute and it turned out to be a far easier task than I originally thought. On my V6, there are 8 bolts that hold the manifold down but there are several engine components that you must first remove before removing the manifold. May I suggest you go to http://www.alldatadiy.com/and purchase a subscription for your particular vehicle which will give you access to service procedures, service bulletins, etc. It only costs $24.95 for one year. I purchased a subscription for my vehicle before attempting the manifold removal and found a very good step by step, illustrated procedure on intake manifold removal and installation. Hope this helps!

Tom
