How to input system codes after anti-theft is activated?
 

I've got a ~2003 Mazda Tribute. Last week, I had to replace the battery. Dong this disables the sound system, and you have to put in a four-digit code to reactivate it.

Well, I input wrong codes three times, because I'm an idiot. And it locked me out, anti-theft system and all.

Googling the problem, I saw a post on this forum that explained how to get the code entry screen back up regardless -- Preset 6, AM, AutoM, Seek^. And that works great, the code entry screen comes back up, and I can input a new code.

But I can't submit that code. It just sits on the screen, waiting. I've mashed every button and combination I can think of, but it just sits there.

Is there any way to actually submit the code, to hit "OK" and have it accept or decline it?

Any reply would be massively appreciated, because I can't afford to go in to the dealer again!

Bit outside of Melbourne, Australia.

Call your local Mazda dealer with Rego number, chassis number & the registered owners details. They will tell you what needs to be done.

1 thing to do is disconnect the battery over nite & see if it resets.

Some Mazda's can be reset without removing the head unit.

Also read your owners manual and see if it says anything about entering a incorrect code.

For anyone who stumbles across this thread on a forum search or on Google in the future, this problem was solved by disconnecting the battery for an hour or two again, which gave me 3 more chances.

Cool. I thought disconnecting the battery might help.
