Default Fan Issue Tribue

I have a 2006 Tribue which just recently developed a fan issue.
The fan will not come on when engine is started, however, will come on about 5 minutes after starting the engine.
I took the Tribue to the dealer. They told me they could do nothing unless they could see the actual problem.
Anyone have simular issues and/or have a solution?
Thanks

Unless things have changed, the fan should not come on until the block temperature sensing thermistor tells the PCM the engine is getting too hot. The fan then cuts in, running only long enough to get the block temperature down, then it stops.
After only 5 min. running, that fan shouldn't be on.
Typically the fan will cut in after prolonged idling, or while idling after the car has done a long run at highway speed and is then stopped at a traffic light for example. It will also run if the engine has gotten hot and is then shut down.
