Door Locking Mechanism
 

Hello everybody,
I hope everybody is well & reasonably happy.
I have just bought a 2001 V6 Tribute with door opening problems from the inside.
The door opens good from the outside & being a front door there's no child lock involved.
I've taken the inner trim off & noticed that the inside door lock is connected to the cable but the door opening handle is not connected to anything.
I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.
