I am wondering how the black thing that runs along the entire roof of my Tribute is attached to the roof with. I'm guessing it is bonded down.

Just to be clear, it feels like a hard rubber or soft plastic that appears to cover the roof/side body seam and is located just outboard of the luggage rack and goes from the front all the way to the back on the roof.

I think it may be leaking and I'd like to remove it and seal under it.
