2005 Mazda Tribute
I have a 2005 Mazda Tribute I purchased. I am trying to locate the spare tire. Also, am I able to use a universal scissor Jack and tools kit, it didn't have a kit
How do you remove the plastic cover in the cargo area?

The spare tire is under the car; it's held in place by a metal cable, use the lug wrench to lower it down.
The plastic covers are a major pain to remove. If you're looking to access the shock bolts, I recommend carefully cutting a hole.
Any jack will lift the car, just be sure to lift in the correct spot.

Thank you so much for the info! Much appreciated! I guess I don't have spare, I think I will buy it and just place it in the cargo area. Don't want to fuss with a tire being underneath the car. :-)
