Default 2002 Tribute brakes pulsing and very loud thumping

For the past few months and not everytime, but when i step on brakes i get a very loud thumping/clucking sound like medal against metal like somthing is lose up at the front, also if i release and re-engage sometimes it stops and brakes normally but sometimes not. So loud that people in the car can here it. I can feel the pulsing/or vibrations via the brake petal. After new rotators and pads - still happening. Dealership now says cracked abs rings. Not mechanical so looking for some advice.

Normally if you feel a that pulsing sensation you rotors are bend that happens if you are braking for a long time so the heat cannot escape where the caliper is situated (sorry fore my bad english i am dutch) and becasue the tribute has ventilated rotos it wil ventilate but not where the calipper is , shorter braking distance could be the answer
But why did the dealer not checked the ABS rings while he changed the rotors and pads ??????
