Default RENESIS 13B- MSP - Help!

Dear all,

I am in the final year of my automotive design degree, and am designing a car with the 13B- MSP 250 bhp engine in it. I am really struggling to find specifics on the engine and 6 speed gearbox. I have to produce an accurate package drawing with the engine in place. I could do with dimensions indicating the space taken up by the engine, or a diagram illustrating this.

Ideally, the images of the engine and gearbox from a technical manual would do the trick, so I can illustrate it accurately. Can anyone post this? If anyone can I'd be very grateful.

Thanks.

D. Tindall, Coventry University Automotive Design

just to be clear, the 13b and MSP motor are different kinds of motors. the MSP, or mazdaspeed protege, motor is the turbo FS-DE motor (piston engine). the 13b is the rotary engine that comes stock in the rx8 (rotary engine). are you trying to put a piston engine in an rx8 or does MSP mean something else that i am missing?

Ah. I was lead to believe that MSP stood for 'Multi Side Port', and the 13B-MSP was basically an evolution of the 13B. I do mean the rotary engine. Basically it is a version of the 13B that I need to accomodate, since the rotary engine is compact for the power it produces and I have little space in the design. Preferably one of the later, higher perfomance versions - I know that the Renesis has been converted to run on hydrogen as well which is useful to note. All I require is any diagrammatic representation of the engine to guide the packaging, and simple engine dimensions - I don't even know roughly how much space it will take, apart from the comparison I have made with an Autograph package of the RX8. Any guidance is more than welcome.

DMZ, you're correct. I don't readily have the sort of image you're looking for. Service manual only shows say, the base engine block in the middle of an exploded view of some parts removed from it, surrounded by torque specs.
