Manual transmission question...
 

Hi guys. Sorry if I display some ignorance here; this may be a lame question. I have a 2006 manual six speed RX-8. Do I periodically add transmission fluid to this car, and if so, where do I do that? I've tried to research online, but I'm not sure if I'm seeing results specific to the manual transmission version.

I have learned that this is not a newer, CVT transmission - it's an older one that I believe the lady I spoke with referred to using the letter A somewhere in the appelation.

A manual gearbox & a CVT transmission are two totally different setups. Mazda never had a CVT in a RX-8.

:-) Shows you how much I know. I at least know what CVT stands for, and yes, I was at least aware that that's not what my manual transmission is. But when I was on the phone with a local transmission shop the other day the lady looked my car up in some database and made it sound like there were two transmissions out there in the model, and it at least sounded like she used the phrase "CVT." Maybe I misunderstood - or maybe your reply tells me something about the quality of that transmission shop.
