Today i have seen what is a serious fire risk to RX 8 basically the exhaust silencer has no heat sheild between it and the transmission tunnel this has resulted in this car to set the carpet on fire inside the car and cause excessive damage internally in the car seat wiring loom etc and carpet
Mazda dealer have said this is the 3rd or 4th theyve seen
Wether it gets so hot because the CAT is faulty i dont know however not to have a heat sheild is the main cause of the potential fire It burns just behind drivers seat on the right hand side of the car (if your stood at back) .
Anyone else seen this before

 

This has just happened to me in my 2005 RX8. Anyone know if Mazda are accepting any liability?
