Buying an RX-8
Hey, I’m a teenager working a job. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on buying, owning and maintaining a Rx-8. I already have one in sight. The price is fairly good and payable. Any tips or suggestions on what I should do?
I can also give the specs, miles, price, mpg, history, etc. if anyone is interested in knowing those factors. They’re below.
Price: $6,488
Down Payment: $1,500
Monthly Payment: $150/month, Will be payed off in 3 years if each payment is not missed.
Fuel Type: Gasoline
Exterior Color: Black Clearcoat
City MPG: 18
Interior Color: Black
Highway MPG: 24
Drivetrain: RWD
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
Engine: 1.3L Rotary
Mileage: 142,622

I would avoid a RX-8 unless you had about the purchase price siting in an account for repairs. Some people have no problems. Some people need to replace the engine. (More in the second group than the first)
I also expect that most mechanics don’t have the skills to work on them.
If you want a good fun to drive car that will be easy to fix - buy a Miata.
