Default Rotary Rebuilds

ok, i drive a skyline, but im an FC and FD fan, im just curious what everyone here has to say to what almost everyone else says about rotarys needing to be rebuilt once the hit 100 000km. and that they are unreliable

what kind of things should be done if you own a rotary to make it last, i have heardthings like let it run for 5 min everytime u start it b4 u drive and make sure u have a working turbo timer. id like to see everyones feedback on this

thanks

That's BS concerning how long they last before needing a rebuild. I've known a few Rotary motors to have between 200,000-300,000 miles on them before dying. They will last as long as they are taken care of.

so is there anything different with a rotary as for taking care of it or is it just like a normal engine

You really have to be on top of the oil changes for starters. Depending on what series you get, some just have different maintenance needs.

you'r gonna run the car or you would'nt have bought it , right? So learn how to pull the motor, rebuild the motor, and find out where you can buy the parts the cheapest. If that sounds like to much work, buy something slower like a Vette.
