i have heard rumors for a while now, but i dont know if any of them are 100% true. mazda's site lists a few upcoming 2006 vehicles, and the RX7 is not listed..[:@]

So far in the dealer network, there is nothing listed for the RX-7's return. If they're going to pull something like that off, they're going to have to keep us informed, so we can supply the parts... :)

NO new RX7 in the future. 2007 Mazda CX-7 sport wagon, Mazda6 platform, five passenger, 2.3l turbocharged direct-injection 4cyl,
available front & all wheel drive. Sale nest summer.

"The RX7 was going to be a platform mate to the RX8...not a replacement for it. And, there absolutely was a RX7 under development (this according to Mazda) it simply ended up on the chopping block. Largely due to issues with the RX8 I suspect as well as the Japanese exodus from the sports car market. One quasi sports car is likely all Mazda feels comfortable with right now."

its a shame...every time i see an RX7..especially the 3rd gen, they catch my eye
