1984 RX7 GSL SE Sport Rear Discs (rotors)
1984 RX7 GSL SE Sport Rear Discs (rotors)
Any recommendations on which hot street rear rotors to get for my 1984 RX7 GSL SE?
This is for the rear only.
I prefer a drilled slotted rotor for the looks, but performance is more of my concern.

Standard replacement discs and semi metallic will give you more bite then you can use on the street.
slotted and or drilled actually will do little on the street but look really good.

You're both right.
I guess it is more for looks than function, especially being in the rear which doesn't need or do much honestly for braking. I may pony up and get EBC and probably never have to replace them again.

As for the rear braking you are not exactly accurate. Although the basic is 70/30% there are way to balance out with increasing braking potential of rear disc systems. And no BBK on the rear actual cause more isue then positive results because very few adjust, compensate or even think about the bark bias they just screwed up.
If it is for looks, I can't disagree. I like both drilled and slotted disc but will carefully choose the pad material to compensate for the negative aspects using them on the street.
The one thing you don't want to do is lessen your factory stopping power and performance specification for stopping. This happens more than you think.
I would say in the service shop I manage 1 out of 20 brake customers must sign a waiver for some chosen brake discs and pads they want installed. And my personal business if you go outside my recommendation there is NO WARRANTY on the parts.
