weird electrical problem on protege 2001

Hi, I have a strange problem...car starts fine, runs ok for couple of minutes and then...radio starts working intermitent, wipers are slow, lights on the dash come on (brake, abs, airbag), power window is slow, headlights dim...everything looks like an alternator problem but I checked the voltage and it is ok and by the way the battery light don't come on on the dash...

It looks like there is an intermitent short circuit somewhere...can it be the radio? and by the way when the radio shuts down the radio lights stays on...

Please help !

Thanks

Sounds like you have an electrical grounding problem. Check all of the ground points that you can but pay particular attention to the #9 ground point. This ground point is located just to the left of the drivers footwell below the fuse box. You will need to remove the trim cover around fuse box to be able to see it. Every item you describe is grounded at that point with exception of radio. The wipers might have a different ground problem as well. Open the hood and locate the wiper motor near the brake master cylinder. There is a ground wire for the motor that grounds at one of the motor mounting bolts. Very common for this connection to break and give you a slow, intermittent, no wiper operation.
