Default Turn on lead for AMP

I'm having a small issue with the turn on lead for an amp I just installed. I have a 2003 protege. The wiring diagram I have says the 12v switched line is pink and black. I found the line behind the rear seats and spliced in my remote line. However, the amp's power light is constantly on... I'm worried the battery will drain.

did you hook up the blue wire to the back of the deck cause that wire will tell the amp when to be on or off without that wireing working then yes it is allways on

ya. I couldnt get the removal tools for the factory head unit so I settled for a black and pink wire in the rear seat harness that i later realized with a test light was for my horn. so i just installed a toggle switch for my turn on lead.
