Sensor Infront of Radiator

Hey everyone,

I took off my front grill today to install a transmission cooler and i notice what seems to be a sensor hanging from the metal that's in front the center of the radiator. I did a paint job recently and it seems like they took it off for some reason as there are 2 corresponding holes to mount it back.

Questions:

1) Is this really a sensor and if so what is it responsible for?

2) There are 2 clips attached to it to mount it either up or down. Whats the orientation it should be mounted in??

Thanks in advance.

most likely either a temp sensor for your air-con or crash sensor for your air-bag.
