Repair manual

Does anyone know of a good repair manual for the 2003 protege 5? Such as chilton or haynes? Having a used vehicle, i like having a reference manual handy to keep me a bit informed as to the vehicles quirks and recommendations. Or is that what this forum is for?? :)

RE: Repair manual

Forums can be great resources, but they're not always the best for a "here and now" type answer when you need it. Either of those manuals can be helpful, yet vague. I recommend Haynes out of the two choices, but I also recommend buying a copy of the dealer's service manual if you can afford it. Dealers sell them generally for around $100, and they're big n' heavy. You'll want both that and something like a Haynes, because the dealer's manual will sometimes talk in context of having all the factory diagnostic tools, and talk in the context of being a factory trained technician. That's where Haynes can fill in. Haynes runs usually ~$20 or under.

If you can't afford the $100 for a hard copy of the dealer's manual, search online for downloadable PDF formats of the entire manual that you can buy over the internet for about $15 or so.
