Pulling a dent out of the door

so this is probably more of a general car question but this forum has been good to me so far. so i park my car on the street overnight due to lack of driveway space. so yesterday morning i awoke to find my drivers door smashed in, obviously by another car. so insurance wont cover this and no one left a note and no one around here saw anything. basically im looking for the best solution i can do myself to get the door as close to it was before. it seems to be dented in 2 spots. a rounded sort of shape towards the front of the car and the massive dent in the centre of the door. ive posted a bunch of pics for you all to look at. hopefully we can come up with a solution, as i didnt do anything to deserve this, yet im responsible for it

RE: Pulling a dent out of the door

That's been kicked in. What you have to do is get the interior door panel off. Hopefully you can get to most of the dent from the inside. You are going to have a problem with the two sharp dents at the top curve of the panel. You're going to have to work it out in little tiny bites. The other thing youcan try is one of those suction dent pullers. Sad thing is I know where there are two driver side doors the same color as your car at a local junkyard here inMassachusetts. That is a real popular color, check around.

how do you know it was kicked in? bearing in mind theres 2 main dents and note the position of the mirror.

today i tried to get to it from the inside, it wast happening. way too much in the way to get even close to the outer door panel from the inside. i did have moderate success with a toilet plunger in pulling the main dent out mostly. my door is really weak now though. it seems there is a metal bar that runs on the inside of the door beneath the rubber strip. thats now been pushed in. so i can push the door panel in and out a few inches with my hand with very little force now. should i be concerned about this from a safety standpoint?

Usually, when something's sideswiped, there are lateral straight dents, scrapes, and paint. No dents like you have. But, if the cage in the door is bent, then it was probably backed into.
Does the window go up and down smoothly? If yes, then from a safety standpoint, you should be OK.

If that bar inside the door is bent, you're probably not going to get it all out.

Bummer...

yeah i was a bit surprised by no paint being taken off my car and no paint left on my car. ill post pictures tomorrow of what it looks like now after plungering the door.

this one will definitely leave a crease even after it has been removed. it is just kind of the nature of metal. tough break man.
