P0400

Do I have to remove the throttle body to clean it out effectively to remove this code or can I just use carb/throttle body cleaner through the air hoses?
Also my idle seems a bit higher since I used the cleaner?
Will this eventually go back to normal?
Stupid light was off now back on & I replaced the egr valve & the suction is really strong.
Thanks Everyone for any input on this annoying issue I have!!!

Read and watch video of: Rough Idling Issues |*MotorWeek
One way around having somebody else press pedal is to disconnect negative battery terminal followed by a few brake pedal depressions, clean your throttle body with proper fluid and clean your MAF (this will also clear any codes). Now re-connect battery when parts dry (you can liberally spray the stuff. With throttle body I like unbolting it and catching fluid with paper towels. The MAF: remove it spray the crap out of it and wave it around with your arm to dry it. Let it idle 10 minutes before driving. re-learning ECU has begun. Drive it for a while and don't complain until you put on at least 50 miles.
I don't trust carb cleaner in throttle body.

I don't trust carb cleaner in throttle body.

The reason is that Carb cleaner is very aggressive. Many hrottle bodies have a coating that prevents dirt from grabbing a hold. Carb cleaner may strip this coating off, throttle body cleaner will not attack the coating.

Cool, thanks for the input Fellas,I will watch the video & do exactly as you say. This is the only thing I need to fix so she can pass inspection!!!
Besides this & my hubs & bearings which I'm replacing this weekend, the car runs well for 189,000+ miles

Did everything on here & still no luck
I'm gonna have to by a sticker
I've replaced the IAC & my little black egr was broken so I replaced that also & still no luck
After 25 miles the light comes back on
This is starting to be a pain in my A$$!!!

PITA? Welcome to the club!

It is a process of elimination. If the light comes back on you need to get the code. It is not necessarily the same one. It could mean another problem surfaces. Don't loose your patience. This car will teach you a thing or two and that will help you for many years to come.

I don't have time to sort through it. But this seems to be a comprehensive article:
