Im pretty new to this. I have a 99 protege ES with full custom exhaust , black rims and thats about it for now. I wanna do a CAI but i have a sensor goin into my airbox itself. I was told pvc pipe works awesome because of heat displacemnt is better. Also i wanna get some drop springs. What would be the best because i dont like how the protege has that offset look to it.

i had the same model as you and could never find a CAIat all.. i made one.. the factory air box that has the sensor in it .. if you turn it over it looks like they have slide a pipe in the box when it was made... i cut mine out carefully and with the exact measurement from the intake (very important) i used pvc pipe placing the sensor in the same spot and running straight to the pre existing hole in the fender toward the frontof the wheel well.. i also had to relocate my overflow resivour when i did this... dont attempt if you arent a good fabricator... but other than that i really hope you have better luck finding one for your car..

Waist of cash for very little performance pickup, usually less that 1 HP. If you are going to do it, come form the base of the a-pillar, not from low on the grill or front of the vehicle. You will only pickup hot air and road grime.
