im not too sure if that is true. my car didnt lose horsepower. and that was the best thing i ever bought for my car in my opinion. plus if that was the case im pretty sure we would see all the drag cars and **** running stock intakes, which i doubt will ever happen

on a modded engine go with a cai on a stock engine(like mine) go with a drop in filter or the k&n kit. I forgot to mention I was using a sri not a cai. But I did have a cai on my last vehicle and also lost hp on the dyno with a stock engine. Just my 2 cents but you do what you want to. A cai will sound better but thats all unless your heavily modded.

Both a waste of money. Just make sure you always have a clean air filter in, with no leaks in the snorkel. Cold air only works when you take the air from the base of the windsheild.

an intake would only make you lose horsepower if you had no MAF and didn't modify the MAP and o2 sensor for the intake. our cars, however, have a MAF sensor and they do benefit from an intake. this is my second pro5 and i know my way around it pretty well.
