Default i wanna remove my non working ac unit how do i do it?

it didnt work when i got the car which is not long ago but since it wont be hot 4 long i think its just extra lbs i dont need how do i get rid of it and how easy would it be im not the best at wrenching and i dont wanna mess anything else up on the car whenido it thanks

Just because it doesn't work doesn't mean that other things don't go through it. Like your electric fan control, your thermostat regulator, and your heat control. Firstly, tell us what you have for a car and we might be able to help you out better. It might just need a charge....

sorry its a 92 protege dx and i dont wanna recharge the ac id rather just remove the whole assembly 2 save lbs but is that a bad idea 4 reasons i dont know? is it something a rookie wrencher can do anyone here done this?
