Default High Idle

I cleaned out my throttle body with throttle body cleaner & the mapf sensor with the sensor cleaner
Now my idle stays at about 1.5 rpm's
Before it was right were it should be under 1,000 rpms
Any way to get this back down with out adjusting the idle switch?
I am getting a new/used IAC sensor tomorrow
Can that be the issue?
I didn't unscrew the old one because the screws would not budge & I didn't wanna strip them
Now I have to unscrew them anyways to replace that sensor
Any thoughts/ideas from anyone that's done this?
Thanks Everyone!!!

Did you disconnect the negative battery terminal while you did it?
Watch Video in this link: Rough Idling Issues |*MotorWeek watch from 1:40 on
It's a Mazda he's working on!
You don't need an assistant, just unplug negative terminal, apply brake pedal. Wait a few minutes. re-hook it up. Start it, let idle for 10 minutes before driving. re-learning will commence and you'll see good results after 50 miles.

It is possible that a bad idle air controller causes a high idle. I don't know if this is the case with your car.
Make sure to use a proper fitting screw driver. Lightly tap it in the x-slot with a hammer while you apply counter clock wise pressure. If you get it off clean it with TB cleaner and try using it again. Maybe you don't need a new one. Keep the new one packed up so you can possibly return it.

The idle was high with the old & new/used one
It happened when I cleaned out my TBI the 1st time
What do you mean by the x-slot Tan-P?

Phillips head:

You mimic the action of an impact driver.

O.K. There is still something wrong with the throttle body or how it was mounted.
Is there any free play in the throttle cable? You should have a few mm of free play.
Is the throttle cable moving freely or binding somewhere?
Did you do something to the air adjustment screw?I hope not.

You speak of an IAC sensor. I suppose you mean IAC motor.

What strikes me is that you get a steady idle at 2000 rpm. I mean you don't say it is loping up and down, just high. And it happened after you cleaned and remounted the TB. This makes me think it is something mechanical.

There is free play,I didn't adjust the screw at all
Yup the IAC motor under the throttle body I replaced
When I first removed the throttle body I had the cable in the wrong slot
The RPM was racing so I adjusted it
Surprisingly it never got back to where it should be after that
I was thinking of going to a junkyard & looking for a replacement TB

"When I first removed the throttle body I had the cable in the wrong slot

I had a look at mine this morning. there are 2 adjustment screws:
1. Idle Air adjustment screw accessible from the top. You did not touch that screw.
2. Idle speed adjustment screw. It sits behind the pulley where the cable attaches. Did you try to correct the idle speed there? That is the correct screw to limit the closing of the throttle.

I can imagine that having the cable attached to the 2nd slot made it race, then you moved that screw back and now the throttle goes beyond closed so it opens up just a little bit to the other side. Or maybe the axle or the butterfly itself got bent.
Take the air intake hose off and have a look inside while operating the throttle by hand.
Indeed you may have damaged the TB and a used one could solve the problem.
