Headlamp Question
Hey all;
I've got a 2002 Mazda Protege5 and the driver's side lowbeam isn't working. The passenger side is fine. I've swapped the bulbs so I know it's not a bulb issue (tried new and the one from the passenger side). I've also checked fuses 20 & 21 & they're good. Also swapped between the two so I know the fuses are fine. Anyone have any ideas on what else I can check? I took the car to a body shop to get the bumper painted and when I got it back the tail light (driver's side) was out - no problem, replaced that, all good but the driver's lowbeam won't come on. All running lights, turn signals, hazards work fine. Appreciate any suggestions! |
Which bumper, Front or Rear?. With front they would have probably had to remove the headlight assembly.

Everything is plastic around the bumpers so there should be a ground connection from the headlights to the steel body. It is likely included with the harness but I am not sure. Create a separate ground connection to see if the light goes on.
Use a volt meter to see if there is power to the light bulb harness. |
Ooops...
Thanks for the suggestions... UseYourNoggin is going to love this... LOL
Wrong bulb. Last night I had another look and actually used my noggin. It's when I placed a multimeter onto the sockets that it showed me I was looking in the wrong location and the wrong bulb. Appreciate the help and the patience! Cheers, |
