What switch are you referring to? The one that the fan **** plugs into on the console? Kind of white. The wires plug in the back of it?

or are you talking about the a/c button? Sorry and thanks for the help

Any info on where to order it from? thanks guys

is your compressor running? you should check that because you might need to add a little r134a. to the other question its the **** not the button when they are talking about the switch. You can get it at a mazda dealer, they arent very much.

maybe i'm thinking about this wrong... but the switch still turns the fan on in positions 2 and 3, just not the a/c... so doesn't that mean the switch is working?

no the switch has a fault. each position on the dial has a connection, those connections are probably in rought shape. mine was working in 2-3 and wouldnt in 1-4. It got worse so that no spot would work, but when i would put it between any of the spots it would work until it fell out of that spot.

go to any auto parts store and you will need to get the r134a, you will also need to get the recharging kit that includes the recharge hose. All you need to do is put it on the a/c lines and turn on car with a/c on and it will suck it into the a/c tubing.

i recently bought a 94 protege. The guy had already told me the ac doesn't work. BUt when i was driving it home, the AC seemed to work fine. But after some time, it only blows air on #4 and not on 1, 2 or 3.

So i'm thinking its the switch which others have mentioned earlier since it works on 4?

Can someone kindly explain how I would go about installing a new switch if i can get hold of one, keep in mind that i know almost nothing about this type of stuff.

Thanks!

when you plug it into the a/c line (should be a blue cap where ur supposed to connect it) remember to plug it into the bottom line (from underneath the car) and not the top one.

Atleast thats what a mechanic told me
