I have a 99 Protege LX 1.6 and spent about $800 replacing the AC system.. was going about it myself before I ran into problems trying to find a drier for it, had to put it in the shop for that, and to have it vacuumed and charged.

I got it back today and there's a clicking noise in the clutch/compressor. Almost sounds like the engine running low on oil, the clattering noise it makes.. but slighter high pitch and constant clicking noise. Happens of course only when the compressor is on, ac set to coldest/highest setting, and i think it only does it during idle. yet about twice as loud as the engine.

Any ideas? new air filter? charged incorrectly? bad remanu. compressor?

If clicking was not present before you brought car to shop, bring it back to shop to make it right
