93 protege cell light for air system problem car will run anything more than idle and it spits and spuddders. Thought it was cat unhooked exhaust no difference new distributor no idea what direction to go in....any ideas???please and thanks

vacuum leaks at the intake side, air intake hose is the most common culprit. Use duct tape isf you find cracks.

Yup already elec tape and duct taped intake tube didnt notice any vaccum leaks does not mean that there arent any maybe map sensor???thanks

What exactly is the DTC that causes the CEL?

Plugs, wires, coil would be my next guess. How do the plugs look?
After that: fuel supply.
Vacuum leak at the lower intake manifold gasket.


The MAF sensor is a possibility too. Clean it and clean the throttle body as well. They do have a MAP sensor but Mazda chose to mislabel it EGR Boost Sensor.

The trouble code comes up as air system problem my scanner is an old snap on one but car is also old But it is very vauge code thanks for input all is appreciated
