I've got a relatively low mileage (122,000) 1992 Protege that has been running like a champ since new. I keep a regular maintenance schedule and it's never let me down. Last night on the way home from work, I stopped at the bank. When I started the car, it started missing and stuttering badly. I shut it down and looked under the hood for any obvious signs of problems. The car didn't give any indicators of any problems prior. I closed the hood and fired it up. It's been running perfect since. I'm thinking maybe fuel pump? It's about time for a full tune up before winter. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and complete fluid changes. That might cure it but I'm fishing for ideas on what transpired.
