Default clutch question

I have a 1.6 5- speed and I think the clutch is too hard to press in. Furthermore, it makes a squeeking sound when I push in the pedal. I traced the squeeking to the pivot points on the fork and I squirted oil on them. This solved the squeeking for about 100 miles but the clutch was still hard to push in.

So, do you think I need a new bearing or master cylinder or what? The clutch uptake is fine and there is NO slipping, but I just don't like how hard I have to press it compared to friends cars with manual transmissions. It's firm like a sports clutch, but it is the stock clutch.

Please advise as to what you think is the problem and what is the best way to repair it. Thanks.

Default RE: clutch question

It sounds like your pressure plate has a high spring tension. This is what gives you this resistance when pushing the pedal. About the only thing to do is replace it.
