Default 2002 LX brakes...

So i used to have a 99 DX, totalled it. Then had a 99 Nissan Sentra SE (loved the sr20de engine and the 4wheel disc brakes, hated the rest of the car). Now I have a 2002 Protege LX so Im back in a mazda (finally). The only thing I dont like about it is the fact that it has drums in back and not discs. Is there a way to get discs back there?

you can convert to the p5 spindles and hubs in the back and swap the whole brake kit out. just find a totalled donor and get the parts off of it.

you have 5 lug now right? if so, the lug pattern will be the same. if you only do the rear brakes from the p5, i think that is all that you need. i will double check that though. if you swap from a mazdaspeed or mp3 model, you will have to make some more modification since the brakes are a little different.

i think that the drum and disc hubs are different, so you would have to swap out the rear hubs for the p5's. you could check the part numbers at autozone and see if they are the same.

good call, if i do have to switch hubs in back, i would probably try to switch the front too so i don't have 4 lug in front and 5 lug in back (too annoying when you want four wheels that match haha)
