2000 Protege won't start.

It was running when I removed it's battery and it sat in the garage for 14 months. Put in new battery and it won't start. Does this have to do with the computer being without power for so long? Does it need to be reset?

Additionally nothing else works.

Try recharging your battery.

lead acid batteries are sensitive to discharge. more than two discharges and its junk trust me. most people think that a recharge is going to revive the battery lead acid batteries have to be kept charged above 50% charge always or they will never return to a full charge. A cars alternator is not capable of keeping a battrry fully charged not ever! regular charging from a decent charger preferably a variable rate charger is important to the life of any battery lead acid or agm.

If you put in a new battery does it crank fine? And did you put in fuel stablizer in the gas tank? We all need more info and things that youve tried...
