2000 Protege Parking brake snapped
 

Hi, Recently while securing the parking brake on my 2000 Protege manual transmission, the handle gave a clunk and became loose, no longer stopping the vehicle from moving when parked. I have been searching for information on the setup and repair of the parking brake to no avail. How many cables does my vehicle have for the parking brake and where can I find more information on it?
