Default 2000 Protege brake dash light on

2000 Protege
1.8L, 5-speed stick shift
Front disc, rear drum

Brake dash light has been on for some time.

Brake fluid full
Unplugged at master cylinder, light still on
Crossed wires at master cylinder plug, light still on
Switch at hand brake appears to be working properly
Loosening cable at hand brake didn't help
Unplugging just before switch at hand brake didn't help
Re-bled brake lines, light slight still on

Driving me nuts. Any idea? Need to solve for State Inspection. Car runs great, brakes work great & tension on peddle seems fine.

ABS light has been on the whole time too. Grounded at sensor & obtained ABS error codes: 22 & 29.

Desperate - looking for suggestions for what to try next.

Tried removing ABS fuse. Didn't help.

Got error code details.

29 - Hydraulic Unit Right Front - Left Rear Brakeline

22 - Circuit for the Hydraulic unit / circuit for right front solenoid

Just ordered new ABS Control Module from:

Genuine Mazda Parts at Wholesale - OEM Mazda Replacement Parts

We'll see what happens from here. Anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions, please let me know.

Problem solved.

Part above wrong but they confirmed an ABS Module (with pump attached) from a Protege with production date Sept-07-2000 to 2003, would work on my 2000.

Installed unit from a 2002 (bought on eBay). ABS light out & more importantly in dash Brake Light out. Just dropped for State re-inspection.

YEAH!!!
