1999 Protege front subframe

While I was changing the front control arm this morning I came across some major rust on the subframe. I'm going to try to weld a patch on it but if that doesn't work I'm going to be forced to change the whole subframe. Unfortunatelty there is no way to get at the nuts to spray them with penetrating oil or heat them with a torch so I'm afraid of breaking them off in the body when I try to remove them. Has anyone replaced the subframe and has any tips to make my life easier when I attempt it? The rest of the car is in perfect condition and I'd really hate to junk it over a rusty subframe.

It is not hard to remove the subframe Go look for one at a good salvage yard Buy a can of flat black rusterum paint and spray it

My main concern is breaking off or stripping the bolts and having to cut the floor inside to get access to the nuts welded to the body. I tried to turn a couple and they didn't want to move.
