1995 Mazda Protege S, Won't start!
 

I have a 1995 Mazda protege S 1.8L, automatic. And it wont start anymore. I checked the battery with a meter and it reads 12v. The fuses look fine as well. There is a red light in the middle of the dash ( some sort of alarm) that flashes even when the battery is so weak it wont start the car, but it's no longer flashing. :(

The car went to the garage last year for a lot of work and my friend and i drove it from the garage to my place. I left it for the winter inside but i forgot to start it so it died. My neighbor and I jump-started it in the spring and as I was letting idle when I noticed the temp started to get too hot too fast. So I put it back inside and now it just wont start 1-2 months later.

does the engine crank? or is it quite? when you turn your key to battery can you hear your fuel pump prime? it should make a humming sound for 2 sec.
