1990 Protege relay box locations? horn relay location?

I'm working on an old Protege I just got. The horn doesn't work. I'm looking for relay boxes, and I found one under the hood and one above the fusebox near the driver-side kickpanel. Are there other sets of relays anywhere? And can anyone tell me where the horn relay is. If it's in the cluster above the fusebox I've found already, which is it? I can't listen for clicks because there are none when I depress the horn pad.

I'd appreciate any help. I have a Chilton's, but it's not much help with many things.

hmm ever think the horn might be bad?
it is located in the passenger side corner of the bumper area.
but Ill take a look at my wiring diagram to find it.

What year Protege supercrisp?? In early 90's the horn relay was on drivers side up above the fuse box. In mid 90's it was moved to behind the passenger kick panel just to the outside of passenger footwell. Later on it was then moved to the fuse and relay box under the hood.

It's a 1990. I've got the horn trouble figured out, sort of. The previous owner, a one-owner car before me, had the horn disconnected because it started blowing all the time, like many of these did apparently. Anyway, now all I have to do is find out how the horn was disconnected, and then fix the problem that made it blow all the time.

But it looks like that's going to have to come after new brake pads, at least as soon as it stops raining in Iowa.

Well when it does quit raining and you get back to the horn problem am thinking that the horn switch connector in the steering wheel wheel has been disconnected. It is very common for the horn pad to get deformed and cause the horn to blow at random if not all of the time. My 91 323 does this and I just unplugged the relay. The relay is located in that cluster under the dash above the fuse box. Simple four wire relay with following wire colors should help you identify which one it is in the cluster.
Green w/ Orange stripe goes to the horn switch
Green w/Yellow stripe goes to the horn
Two of the wires will be Green w/ White stripe and are power in to the relay from the 20A STOP fuse.

If you backprobe the Green w/ Orange stripe wire with paperclip and then short to ground point with a small jumper wire the relay should click and horn should blow. If it does this then look to disconnected horn switch.

Thanks. That's very helpful! I'm going to be looking at the brakes this next weekend, while I charge up the battery on my motorbike. I love spring.

dont forget to turn the rotors if youre putting new pads on
or if you are wanting performance breaks you can look towards KVR Drilled and Slotted Rotors.
just got mine today and they are looking very very nice! :)
