I have an 02 protege dx, I got a couple of questions.

1. When I start the engine, start driving and stop a couple of traffic lights away, the engine almost stalls and gets back up to idle. This happens when I completely stop and engine is at idle and only within minutes of starting from cold engine. It seems like something is stalling it. At first I thought that it might be the radiator fan that has a bearing on its way out, but it doesn't happen when I drive for longer periods of time and stop during that time. Anyone seen anything like that.
2. I don't have AC, I wanted to put one in. Mazda has a kit for sale ($1050+tax), if this is anything like their other kits, installation shouldn't be bad. Is there anything out there that is a better (read cheaper) solution. Is there a part listing that I could use to get these parts separately.

So the only time the idle drops down and tries to stall is within the first few minutes of starting and driving? Never happens after engine has been running for 5 minutes or so and temp gauge is showing normal temperature? What is the engine RPM after you start up cold and are just sitting there idling?
