Default Vacuum Advance for a 86 B2000

My mechanic said my vacuum advance is bad, but he could only find a distributor with the vacuum advance to replace it. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get just the vacuum advance, as the distributor is fine. I see vacuum advances online for 30 to 80$, but the refurbished distributor he found is 270$. I was thinking of trying junk yards to see if i can find one, But a 33 year old part that's part rubber seems like it would go bad a lot. I'm don't know what I should do here and would like some advice.

Thanks.

Mike.

I believe some have used 1987-1990 B2200 vacuum cans on B2000 distributors.
