Stuck CV Axle

Front right axle
Hi,
I have a 1987 mazda B2600. I noticed my outter c/v boot was torn so I'm replacing it. I've got it all taken apart to the point where all I should have to do is pull the axle and it should slide right out of my diff. no problem. Well I have a problem it's stuck. I've tried pulling and prying on it and the thing won't budge. I just want to see if anyone come across this problem and if they have what they did about it.
