Default starting issues B2600i

Have a 91 B2600i pickup that has some starting issues. Not having any real knowledge of fuel injection, sensors and such I came across this forum which has been quite helpful. Anyhow lately I am having a hard time starting it. It started out as a minor thing when it was a little cooler. Now that we are in the minus temps it doesn't start at all. You basically have to floor it and keep it pinned to get any action at all. I stumbled across a posting tha sounded close and it recomended unhooking the temp sensor to give it the kick it needs to start. I t works and when I hook the sensor back up it kicks the idle up. It actually seems to run better without the sensor. So is it the sensor or is there something else going on.
