Replacing the radio in my Mazda B2500 Pickup

I want to switch out the radio that is currently in my mazda b2500 truck for one that has a radio, cd, and cassette player. I've found a lot for other makes but none that are under ~$150 specifically for mazda.
I have been told that the ford ranger is essentially the same as the mazda b series, but does that apply to the wiring that will hook up to the radio? Or will a ford radio not be compatible with the other electrical components of the mazda?

There are kits for installing stereos into dashboards. I've used Metra kits from Autozone in my 1988 Mazda truck and two frontiers, and there are wiring kits too, recommend those. https://www.autozone.com/interior/st...it/mazda/b2500

I also like to solder/heat shrink any wires instead of using crimp connectors, but you might find the kit has simple plug in connectors.

Thanks for your response!!

It looks like the wiring kits on that website are all sold out. I found a ford ranger radio and a replacement wire harness to go with it: https://www.bonanza.com/listings/98-...oaAvFAEALw_wcB

is it safe to attach that to the wiring in my truck?

I think you'd be better off finding a brand-new stereo installation kit for your Ford/Mazda. You'd connect the new stereo's wires to the connector, and then that connector should plug right into the truck's harness. Of course, you'd have the negative battery cable disconnected while doing all electrical work.
