Question motor oil question

i have an 87 mazda 220,000 miles on it. what types of motor oil u guys would prefer or would be the best for application.

I'm a Valvoline man myself....with that kind of mileage on the engine, I'd probably add some Lucas oil stabilizer to it for good measure.

I'd avoid synthetics since you have no idea what kinds of oils were used in the engine previously (synthetics tend to wash any old oil residue out of the system...this residue can clog up your oil filter and starve your engine of oil. My friend did this with a 73 240Z Widebody....put synthetic in and the engine promptly blew up. The previous owner had used Pennzoil which leaves a wax build-up inside the engine. All of that wax clogged the filter and BAM.....gave him a good reason to put a Mustang 302 V8 in it though )
