Question Mazda B2600 engine swap

I have a 89 b2600 4 cylinder 4x4 and the engines shot. I was wondering if I could replace it with any other b series engine like a 1.6 liter or maybe a 22r? Also how much stuff would I have to change? Would it be easier just getting the same engine? Thank you.

1990-1993 B2600i engines are a little different than the 1989 B2600i, might be just stuff like the ECU and distributor, I just don't know. I do know that carbureted 1987-1988 B2600 engines are completely different. And so is the B2200.
