Default Heres a tough one for ya

I have a 1990 Mazda b2200 5 speed truck, the air conditioner will not work when pressing the button. I have changed the button and still no luck. The compressor will work when I jump the wires at the button and it blows out cold air, but after it runs for a couple of minutes it will kick on and off speratically then finally shutting off until I unhook and hook back up the jumper but a couple of minutes later its doing it again. My truck will not idle either when the air is on. I have to keep my foot on the pedal to keep it running. Can anyone help me with this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a idle-up servo on the side of the carb that should move the linkagewhen the air is turned on. Make sure the vacuum lines are still connected to it. Also make sure the linkage for the servo is still on it. Have you checked the highpressure switch on the dryer? You might need to replace it.

I will check the servo. I have checked the high pressure switch on the dryer, it doesn't seem to be the problem. I jumped it as well and still get the on-off problem. I just can't figure out why the air won't come on with the button instead I have to jump it. Thank you for the fast reply and info.

You may want to check the freon level as well. It'll do the same when it's low. If thats the case, don't want to run the air very long, it will trash your compressor. Good luck.
