Default Heater Stuck On Hot (Long)

A few years ago, my air was stuck on cold. I took it to a shop and the guy said the blend door was stuck and that he cleaned it out. A few weeks later, the air got stuck on cold again. Took it back, he did the same thing, and the same thing happened. Then the truck sat for a long time while I was deployed. Now for the past year or so, the air is stuck on hot. I took the truck to a different shop, and the guy replaced the heater control valve. The air is still stuck on hot. I have ruled out the thermostat and i personally checked the blend door and everything seemed ok. Don't know what the problem could be, becomming very frustrated. Any help is very appreciated. Thank you.

What year and model is the truck? Makes a big difference.

From what I looked up, there are only a few choices where the problem is. Since the blend door is manual, have you checked to make sure cable is attached to blend door arm properly? Can you disconnect the temp cable and operate the blend door with your fingers to see if you get a temp change? I have seen blend doors broken in other Mazda (Ford) models. Since this truck is really a Ford Ranger in disguise.

I took the blower motor out the other day to check the heater core. Where do I go to check the cable and actual blend door? A mechanic I know said it could be a switch in the dash that won't let it switch over. I know that I am basically going to have to take it to a shop, but I don't want them to do some quick fix like before while I keep having the same problems. Thanks for the advice.

Your blend door should be mechanical (by cable). The blend door is connected through a cable that is connected to the temp slider on the dash. Follow the cable from the dash slider and it will lead you to the blend door arm, and there it is. Can you move the temp lever easily on the dash? You will probably have to lower the glove box to gain access.

Yes, I can move the slider easily. I can hear a noise when I do it also. Sometimes it makes and noise, and sometimes it doesn't.
