a few questions 87 B2200 fuel and trans ??
I figured that I'd post all my questions in one thread and see how that works.
1987 B2200
fuel filter: I can't for the life of me find the fuel filter. on my 90 and 91 that I had years ago they were right in the engine bay on the pass side near the firewall. on this 87 i traced the lines from the tank to the carb and still didn't see one. is there one? if so where?
auto trans: when cold it seems that my trans when either in reverse or drive thinks it's in neutral. it will start to go then just rev like I'm in neutral then it will re-engage. this is onlywhen i first start it pullingin and out of the driveway or whatever. once I start driving it seems fine. it shifts a little firm but doesn't slip.
carb: is there a way to adjust the choke or clean or service the choke? when first started it seems to rev rather high, when I tap the gas pedal it'll drop down and seem fine but when in gear it seems to idle a bit too low. or .. is that a timing thing?
I think that's all for now (i've only had the truck 4 days).
thanks
Rob

RE: a few questions 87 B2200 fuel and trans ??
I saw hixx post this in another reply... sound related to one of my issues?
"The slow fuel-cut solonoid opens the idle circuit. It is common for that circuit to clog. I remove them and clean the circuit with carb spray and check the solonoid operation. Should have 12 volts to the solonoid with the key on. There is also a micro switch on the base of the carb linkage that tells the ECU it is at idle/off idle that commonly sticks. "

The trans problem seems to be resolved (hope that's not speaking too soon). I added some Lucas Trans Fix today and it was fine when I left work and again later when I moved the truck to get my van out of the driveway tonight. Hope it is the same in the morning when I go into work.
still would like some input on the carb and fuel filter questions.. thanks.
oh.. I would add that the truck is running rich too
